Wisconsin is the Capital State of "Capitals of...". That's right, we have more cities and towns claiming to be the Capital of something than any other state. Here's a partial list. Let me know what I've left out, I'd appreciate it. I'll keep updating this list as more "Capitals" come in. I love the ones that end with the declaration..."of the World". That's true Wisconsin spirit. Humility is not allowed here. Algoma is the “Salmon and Trout Capital of Wisconsin". Alma Center is the "Strawberry Capital of Wisconsin". Babcock is the "Cranberry Pie Capital of the World". Bayfield is the "Berry Capital of Wisconsin". Belleville is one "UFO Capital of Wisconsin". Berlin is the "Fur and Leather Capital of the World". Birchwood is the "Bluegill Capital of Wisconsin". Bloomer is known as the "Jump Rope Capital of the World". Bonduel is the "Spelling Capital of Wisconsin". Boscobel is the "Turkey Hunting Capital of Wisconsin". Boulder Junction is the "Muskie Capital of the World". Clam Lake is the "Elk Capital of Wisconsin". The Caldron Falls Bar and Grill in Twin Bridge is the "Hog Wrestling Capital of the World". Delavan is the "Circus Capital of the World". Eau Claire is the "Horse Radish Capital of the World". Eagle River is known as the "Snowmobile Capital of the World". Ellsworth is the "Cheese Curd Capital of Wisconsin". Elmwood is also claiming "The UFO Capital of Wisconsin". Evansville is the "Soy Bean Capital of Wisconsin". The Fox Cities (Appleton,Neenah/Menasha, Kimberly,Kaukauna) are the "Paper Capital of the World". Fremont is the "White Bass Capital of the World". Gays Mills is the "Apple Capital of Wisconsin". Gleason is the "Brook Trout Fishing Capital of the World". Green Bay is known as the "Toilet Paper Capital of the World". Haugen is the "Kolache Capital of the World". Hillsboro is the "Czech Capital of Wisconsin". Hayward is the "Golf Capital of Wisconsin" (I think Sheboygan can claim that one). Juda is the "Buffalo Roast Capital of Wisconsin" (C'mon Juda, I think you guys are thinking too small, you can easily go for the "World" with this one). Mercer is known as the "Loon Capital of the World". Milwaukee is the "Beer Capital of the World". Monroe is known as the "Swiss Cheese Capital of the World". Mount Horeb is known as the "Troll Capital of the World". Muscoda is the "Morel Mushroom Capital of Wisconsin". Onalaska is the "Sunfish Capital of Wisconsin". Potosi is the "Catfish Capital of Wisconsin". Park Falls is the "Ruffed Grouse Capital of the World". Presque Isle is the "Walleye Capital of the World". Racine is the "Kringle Capital of the World". Sheboygan is known as the "Bratwurst Capital of the World". Siren is the "Lilac Capital of Wisconsin". Somerset is known as the "Inner Tubing Capital of the World". Stockbridge is the "Sturgeon Capital of the World". Sparta is the "Bicycling Capital of America". Sturgeon Bay is known as the "Shipbuilding Capital of the Great Lakes". Sun Prairie is the "Groundhog Capital of the World". Taycheedah is the "Sheephead Fishing Capital of the World". Waukesha is the "Gymnastics Capital of Wisconsin". Waunakee is the "Only Waunakee in the World". Wausau is known as the "Ginseng Capital of the World". Wautoma is the "Christmas Tree Capital of the World". Wisconsin is known as the "Dairy Capital" of the United States. Wisconsin Dells is, of course, "The Water Park Capital of the World"…and there is more.
